Hey guess what theres hope for the country yet I guess people in Lah Lah land finally woke up and spoke in a very clear and unmistakeable way .The result is five state fell to the opposition and the ruling coalition lost its 2/3 majority.
For once race didnt matter and we voted together on issues . Whats more people were really fed up and rose up to make changes at the ballot box. i hope this means a more equitable sharing of resources in the opposition run states. As the new state governments are sworn in ,expectations are high and the air seems to be fresh.
We are waiting with anticipation to see how the new state governments carry out the people's mandate.
Is this the start of two party elections? Dont know still too early to tell.

 Comments

MY MUSINGS

my beloved country has just celebrated its 50th anniversary of independence and boy what a lavish celebration it was. Over 100 million ringgit was spent for the celebration lasting over the course of one month. What do we have to celebrate as peace loving malaysians? we are apparently living in a multicultralal nation where all the different races live in harmony. But is that true If we were to look under the seemingly coexistence of the races we see that the races actually do not see eye 2 eye on many issues, our school system is as segregated as ever the national type schools are dominated by one race and the students dont easily mix with their classmates of other races. When my son came home after school one day he asked me papa why did my malay friend say he cannot be my friend and seemed quite upset by it as we have always taught him to be friends with all his classmates irrespective of race or religion.
Is thi9s what we are teaching our children now to only select friends who share the same colour as us? Then i say we have not progressed in fact we have regressed. I still remember my school days when i had malay ,chinese kadazan pakistani and sikhs as my friends we didnt seem to mind that our colour was different or that we were of different religions all that mattered to us was how we could help each other or in whose house we were going to lepak. What has happened to that bonhommie? I crave sometimes for the old days when maybe we didnt have much but we were rich in terms of friends. Where has that all gone.
And so I ask where is this belaved country of mine headed ? I would like to think that all right thinking malaysians will ponder on thisesp. as our next general electionsdraws near

I have had the oppurtunity to travel the world and have chosen to come back to my belaved country malaysia. Now as we stand at the verge of celebrating our nations golden anniversary I have finall chosen to speak my ming
After 50 yrs when the nation should be standing shoulder to shoulder to celebrate this momentous occasion ,the goal of a 'malaysian Malaysia" seems as far awayas when our nation was granted independence

The state of the nation seems to be in a bigger mess than ever. Bailouts continue and we continue to play on racial tensions. Freedom of religion is spoken about but not practised. racial polarisation is the normnot the exception. With the election looming on the horizon I wonder if malaysians will vote with their heads or with their emotions
All these noises that are being, will it lead to the nation speaking at the ballot box or is it more hot air adding to global warming?
